Stop PayPal from doing any currency conversions in my account (since they are not necessary)

I receive regular payments to my paypal account in USD. Originally my default paypal account currency was set to EURO (not my native currency, so not sure why it was set to that), but since paypal were converting the incoming USD to EURO I changed my default currency to USD (and removed EURO as a currency from my account). My bank (that I always transfer the money to, shortly after they enter my palpal account) accepts all currencies and automatically converts them to BGN, since this is my native currency. Now you would assume that I can just tranfer for example 100 USD and my bank will convert that to 183,26 BGN (assuming 1.83 conversion rate from USD to BGN), however paypal first wants to convert my USD to EURO and then send the money over to my bank. Why does that even happen? My bank is not in EURO, my paypal is not in EURO and nothing is in EURO. There has to be a way to stop paypal from converting my money to a random currency right?

Paypal does not support the Lev which is why your paypal account primary currency was the Euro.
https://developer.paypal.com/docs/reports/reference/paypal-supported-currencies/
So withdrawals to bank accounts are always either in the local currency (if supported) OR the primary currency of your paypal account (Euro) and then converted on withdrawal.

Ok now I understand why they try to convert it to EURO, but still the double unessacary conversion is absurd. Is there really no way to turn it off?

If you have a U.S bank account you would be able to withdraw in USD OR if you have a USD currency card?
