Hello,

I'm facing a significant issue with accessing my funds and I'm hoping you could provide some assistance.

Three years ago, I created my PayPal account while I was a student in Spain. However, I no longer reside there, and my Spanish bank account, which I used for transferring funds from PayPal, is being closed. I am originally from Azerbaijan and currently do not have a permanent residence anywhere except Azerbaijan.

It appears that PayPal only allows linking bank accounts from the country where your PayPal account was created. Unfortunately, I'm unable to open a new bank account in Spain.

Could you please advise me on how I can access my funds? I have bank accounts in Montenegro and Azerbaijan, as well as Payoneer accounts. However, I'm unable to link them to my PayPal account. Any guidance you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Paypal is country specific so if you move countries you have to close your old countries Paypal account and open another Paypal account registered in the country where you now live. Then add an address / phone number / bank accounts / cards from within that country.

You should really withdraw any funds / resolve issues / remove cards and bank accounts / cancel any subscriptions and close the old Paypal account before you move countries. If you don't then you may have problems doing so once you have moved and may need to contact customer services for help to resolve things.
