Service vs. product

PayPal asks for confirmation of shipping but I'm being paid for a service, not a product. How to I prevent PayPal from sending a 'shipped" confirmation

I'm having the same issue and paypal support has been no help. At this point I feel like they are hijacking my money for as long as they can. I use other companies like square and have my money within 48 hours.

I understand your concern about the recent transactions. To receive the funds sooner, please ask the buyer to confirm receipt for this transaction on their PayPal account. You will need to mark this transaction as "order processed" or "Service rendered" and ask the buyer to confirm receipt on their end. Please learn more about it through this Help Center Article. Furthermore, once you have done with updating order status, please share this link with buyer on how to confirm receipt. We have tried all of those steps. The transaction was made on October 27th and according to PayPal my only hope is to wait until November 17th. My customer and i have spent hours on the phone with paypal trying to fix this issue. The whole situation is embarrassing that I have to put my customers thru this and it has their project on hold. And every rep has us do the same steps even tho I ask them to read the notes on my account to see what had been tried already.
