Seller cannot refund due to opened paypal case, but case comes up as “closed” on my end

Id like a refund for a service. I opened a case with paypal months ago. Paypal closed the case; I had to reach out to the seller to get my money back. So I did, but i was told by two sellers that they can’t reverse the transaction because the case comes up as opened on the seller’s end. On my end, it comes up as “closed” . They cannot process the refund if the case is opened on their end. What is going on and how do i fix this?

Both sellers can contact customer service requesting PayPal to issue refund or you can appeal the closed cases if they were decided against you providing documentation that seller agreed to refund.
