Security codes for payments

I'm selling to someone who wants to pay through PayPal but there telling me in order for the money to go through they need a security code which I received on text to confirm m lodgment...is this a scam or is this a normal thing through

No don't give them any text you receive for YOUR paypal account as they are trying to hack it.
