Hello!

It was long time ago since I was using paypal so got little trouble, me and my customer.

So, step by step what happend:

-Customer send me a money for drawing 300$, but the money can't be send because I don't have buisness account so I change it. And then me got e-mail that Customer need to pay additional 200$. So it was done. And another message goes from paypal that transaction is pending and I need to make a refund from paypal (how if I don't have money there) or use outside transaction option.

Here are the photos of this e-mails:

I never had this kind of situation - my friend, that use paypal also.  And I don't know what to do, beacuse I don't have this much money to give back right now.

So I'm worried is this something wrong with transaction or it's a very good scam?

Hi @Sarameda

Thank you for your caution in checking in with us! I'm sorry that you received fraudulent emails asking you to take actions that would lead to a loss of money.

When you receive an email that you are not expecting that appears to be from PayPal, you will want to examine it closely and review some key elements described in this article. Also, this US article also outlines some common scams.

There are likely no matching transactions in your PayPal account, but if there are, you can go to the transaction details to select to refund them. Do not send any payments as a new transaction, as that would put you in a position to lose the funds.

I hope this helps!

Olivia

I don't send the money - somebody send me a money, and for polish zloty is really big ammount - I sometimes draw for money ( cartoon style or semirealistic arts). The lady want to pay for art even it's not finished - sometimes people do that, so this was not new from me.

The lady told me she send me 300$, and next she told me she got the e-mail, same as me about the additional 200$ to pay . And she told me she do that and she do. Also the strange for me was that after i change my account to buisness - the money from that lady still don't came and don't show at my transaction list...

And now. I'm scared that I do something wrong and need to give money back - but it's impossible for me, to do that.

Ok, I look on to the article then.

I don't have any transactions, even pending so my friends, who use paypal too, told me to contact the support but in Poland support works from monday to friday only to 5 p.m so I'm unable to reach them, even on the weekend, need to wait until monday. So decide to write here, on forum.

Hi @Sarameda

Thank you for your reply.

If there are no transactions in your PayPal account, that would mean that there is nothing to refund. The email is a fake designed to get you to send money to a fraudster. You can ignore the email and send it to phishing@paypal.com so our security folks can follow up on it further to try to prevent further fraudulent activity from that email address.

I recommend against screenshots that include any sensitive information such as full names or financial numbers, or which contain any information in a language not supported by this Community Forum at this time. You can read more about the Community Guidelines here. All assistance must be conducted publicly and generally here, and we cannot assist via private message. If anyone offers to assist you in private message, please do not accept that help, as that person is very likely a scammer.

I hope this helps!
