Pending payment that is a charitable donation, not a purchase

On December 15th I sent a $75 donation to a charitable organization.  The funds were withdrawn from my bank, but are still pending in PayPal.  Apparently I did not do it correctly, and PayPal thinks I bought something (which I did not) and I've attempted several times to explain it to them, with no luck.   They simply do not understand.

At this point (6  weeks later) I would like it cancelled and the funds refunded to  my bank account so I can just send a check.  Does anyone know how I can do this?
