Payment sent under Family & Friend has not been received due to the account being blocked by Paypal

Payment sent under Family & Friend has not been received due to the account being blocked by Paypal after i made the transfer. How do i get the money back so i can resend via alternative means?

This is the second time this has happened to me to different people.

I would have thought if an account was blocked by Paypal all funds would be returned to the sender.

If the account was blocked and the payment could not transfer to the person you are sending it to then it would show as UNCLAIMED on your paypal account. Unclaimed payments are returned to the sender at 30 days if they remain unclaimed.

If it is showing SENT or COMPLETED then it has successfully transferred to the email address you sent it to that is linked to an active and open paypal account.

Be very careful using that option as its against paypal rules to use it to purchase goods or services. Scammers often ask you to pay using friends/family and then pretend that they have not received the money. They know that you have no buyer protection so can't get your money back.
