Payment sent missing

Yesterday, I attempted to purchase an item from a merchant using PayPal. My card that was linked to the PayPal account was charged, yet the merchant didn't receive any payment nor does PayPal show that any payment would take place. How could I possibly resolve this?

If the transaction doesn't show on your paypal account / activity then contact your card issuer and request a return of the funds, although if the transaction failed it should bounce back to your card in a few days.
