Payment pending on an order that was cancelled by the seller, how long before it is cleared??

On the 25th of November I made a purchase, the seller then cancelled the order as they were unable to fulfill it. Now the payment is showing as pending and money is being held in my bank account, does anyone know how long before the funds are released? It won't let me lodge in the resolution centre I am not sure why it was for magazines I am in Australia the order was made for American delivery if that makes any sense to anyone?

When you pay a company (rather than an ebay seller or individual), then it is often pending until that company processes your order and captures the pending payment.

If they don't process that order and capture the pending payment then the pending status times out at 30 days post-payment.
Sometimes the company can void the authorisation so you get the funds released a bit earlier.
