Payment on hold, it asks for tracking number, but I didn't send anything out.

A friend in Canada just sent me some money as a gift. It is saying the payment is on hold until 20th September. It says if I want to get it released sooner I must provide tracking numbers etc. However, this is not a payment fir a product or service. I did not post anything and do not have a tracking number. So what should I do? Thanks Alex

Your friend should have used the friends/family option instead of goods/services, as they didn't then paypal saw you as a seller and applied the new seller hold.

To release funds more quickly checkout the link.

The problem is, the link only shows options for business/goods/services.

You can release funds for goods/services regardless of account 'type'.

Whether its goods/services or friends/family is dependent on how the funds were sent.

The release of funds is again regardless of account type.

How, it just keeps asking me to provide a tracking number?

I didn't post anything, it's not a sale of goods.

Thanks

Alex

That reply shows me that you have not read the link as it doesn't just apply to goods sent in the post.
