Payment not showing up in my account

Is there a delay in seeing a transaction on Paypal? Person says they sent me the money and it was deducted from their account, but I am not seeing the transaction in my account.

Have you confirmed your email address?

Can you hold a balance ie have you got a Paypal balance account as per link and accepted funds before?

Have you checked the person sending the funds used the correct email address without any spelling errors or typos.

Are you sure its not a scam?

Were the funds sent in a currency you can accept?

What does it say on the senders paypal account ie pending / unclaimed / payment / sent or what?
