Payee surname on bank transaction

I want to pay into PayPal so I have some money in PayPal to purchase things.

paypal says ‘under payee, put PayPal.’
my bank transfer form asks for first name of payee in one box then surname in another.
putting PayPal in both boxes doesn’t work…the bank won’t verify that as a recognised payee.

so I tried leaving surname blank. But that wasn’t accepted either.
I am getting so frustrated that I can’t find a way of getting money from my bank into PayPal so am unable to use it.

I tried using chat to help…it didn’t understand me. I have tried Googling it…I seem to be alone in this problem.

can anyone please advise me on how to name payee that my bank will accept (Nat West)

Why do you need funds in your balance? You never need funds in your balance as a buyer.

Paypal will automatically take the funds from any linked and confirmed bank account or card you have on your paypal account.

You can click on change during the payment process to select which option as a funding source you want to use for each individual transaction OR

......
Click on the profile tab (icon next to log out) > Click on payments third option along on the thick blue band top of page > second down click on update next to your preferred way to pay and put a dot in one of the options listed.

However if you want to add funds follow the information in this link.
