Pay in 4-charged the down payment but I didn't make the transaction with the merchant?

Hi, I tried out Pay in 4 today on Best Buy and agreed to the loan terms. I didn't realize it would actually charge me right away for the down payment but it did. However, I never even made the purchase with Best Buy. So I don't understand why I was charged? I want my money back, or at least I would go through with the transaction but don't know how to use the approved loan to do it

Welcome to the PayPal Community! I'm sorry for any frustration this caused. 

Once you agree to the terms and conditions, an Authorization hold is placed on the first installment. If the transaction is not completed with the merchant, the authorization hold is removed in 24 hours.
