Does it show as pending on your account ie echeque?

Which currency did he send and if USD then have you added it as a receiving currency in your paypal wallet?

Have you double checked the email address to make sure there were no spelling errors and have you confirmed your email address?

What does it say next to the transaction in his paypal account?

it says the money has been sent to my paypal, but it’s not in my balance or anywhere in my activity or my emails.

ok if it actually says SENT and not pending or unclaimed then it has successfully transferred to the email address it was sent to that is linked to a paypal account.

So again I would say check the email address for spelling errors in case its gone to someone else / double check that you still have USD as a receiving currency on your paypal account and if still no luck then you would need to contact customer services.
