If its showing as unclaimed then it should time out at 30 days and go back to you.
If its marked as sent and you sent it using the friends/family option then your only option is to email that 'wrong' email address and request that they refund the payment to you.

That's a shame but not a lot you can do about it if you sent using friends/family.
If you funded your paypal payment via a credit card then they may chargeback for you, although again they may decline as it was a gift payment. If that happens then sadly nothing else you can do.
