My money is stuck in my old account!

Hello! Back when I lived in the US I had a PayPal and a friend sent me some money years ago. Now that I live in Europe I wanted to have access to that money. The problem is: I don’t have a american bank account anymore so when I click “accept the money” I can only do 2 things (1- send to my bank account - which I can’t since I don’t have a american bank account anymore and since the paypal account is american I can’t input my european bank info- or 2- keep the money on paypal, the problem with that option is as soon as I click it, paypal asks me to input a american bank account. What can I do? Is my money lost? Thanks for reading and any advice you can give me !

Paypal is country specific so if you move countries you should really withdraw any funds / resolve issues / remove cards and bank accounts / cancel any subscriptions and close the old Paypal account before you move countries. If you don't then you may have problems doing so once you have moved and may need to contact customer services for help to resolve things.

You can however in most countries add a U.S bank account (not card) to your Paypal account. This is because Paypal is a U.S company and allows that option for U.S citizens working in other countries.

Thanks for responding to my post! I should have closed my paypal account back then ! Unfortunately I don’t have a US bank account or Card, so I guess I’ll just try to call and reach the costumer support! Thanks!
