My friend didn't receive the money I transferred

I was trying to transfer my money into their account via the PayPal app using contacts. They didn't receive the funds because they didn't link their email to their account. Afterwards they linked their email but then still have received nothing

Is it showing as sent / completed / pending or unclaimed?

Has the recipient confirmed their email address after adding it as per link?

It saids there as "money sent" and the recipient has added and confirmed their email as per link. Could it be an issue of mobile number not being properly registered?

Money SENT means that the funds have successfully completed to the email address you sent the funds to and is linked to an open and active paypal account. In other words that email address received the funds so check you sent it to the correct email address without any spelling errors.

If there was an issue with the email address OR it was not confirmed then the funds on your side would show as UNCLAIMED.

How much of a 'friend' is this person? Only be aware that a lot of scammers request you send the funds that way and then pretend they have not received them knowing that you negated your buyer protection by sending them that way. You would not be able to raise a paypal dispute for non receipt of item.

One thing I forgot to note previously is that I didn't link their email into my contacts. It was just their phone number. I only know that it was affiliated with an email at the transaction receipt. It is to my assumption that the PayPal app doesn't take in more information than that was already given in my contacts. So I have no idea how it the email in the first place. I trust them enough for this because they'd have nothing to benefit over what we were trying to do with the money. So there's no reason for mistrust there I believe. I don't wanna go into personal details but I have a deep level of trust with this person and I'd known them for quite a while now.

I've just been made aware that the email address the receipt gave me ended with a ".con" instead of a ".com". What would happen to the money if it was sent to an email with a typo? Is it still possible to retrieve the money?

Hey @Irfan_rumansha

Thanks for responding back! I completely understand your concern about your funds. When you sent a payment to the wrong person and the payment status shows as unclaimed, you can cancel it. You can find the details about the canceling the payment here. If the payment status is 'completed', you can ask the recipient to refund you. Here's the article with more information on the steps to take when you sent a payment to the wrong person. If the recipient refuses to refund, you can dispute the payment if it was sent as a goods & services payment. However, you can't report a problem for payments sent as "Family and Friends".

Thanks for the help here @kernowlass!

Hope this information helps,

Bindu

Thing is that when I asked the same thing they said the funds were SENT. I mentioned unclaimed but they said SENT which is odd?
