Money request cancelled

When a person requests money from another person can the person being requested cancel the request?

They can just not pay it, its a request that's all.

Thanks for the input.I sent my wife a request and on there she found a cancel request button, so the recipient can just cancel it even if they owe you.I ain't for sure,after much investigation,but if after 30 days if no activity on that request occurs on either end,it just cancels itself.
