Money is on hold

Hi. I have received funds on my account but my friend sent them as "pay for goods" and now the money is on hold.... How fast would the refund go back if I decide to do a refund so he could send money again as for friend? Thank You

Be warned that if you issue a refund while the funds are on hold, PayPal will use the money in your available PayPal balance or your linked bank account to refund and the PayPal fees charged are not refunded. The money on hold is temporarily unavailable for use on anything until it is released 21 days from date of receipt. Here’s how fast refunds are processed: Where is my refund?

Your other option is to update the order status to “order processed” or “completed”  so the money is released 7 days after verification.

Click transaction, then click “Add tracking info”.

Verification is sender confirming receipt after 48 hrs from you updating order status.

To confirm receipt:

• Click Activity at the top of the page.
• Find and click the original payment for the item.
• Click Confirm receipt.
• Click Yes to confirm that you received the order.
