Hello Community,
I'm facing a peculiar situation regarding funds that a friend sent me, and I'm hoping to get some guidance on how to resolve it.
Recently, I received a notification via email indicating that my friend had sent me some money. However, when I clicked on the link provided in the email, it directed me to a web page that displayed the message:
"Sorry. It looks like nothing was found at this location. Maybe try one of the links below or a search?"
The issue is that even though my friend initiated the transfer, I cannot find these funds anywhere in my account or transaction history. To provide some context, I initially set up the payment app while I was in South Korea but am currently residing in the United States. I suspect that changing my app's region settings may have caused this issue, but I have no idea how to proceed from here.
I appreciate any insights or advice you can provide to help me resolve this matter. Thank you for your assistance.
Best regards,

Hello @Temp20230918a
Thank you for writing in the PayPal Help Community and welcome!
I understand your concern about not able to access the money sent by your friend to your PayPal account. If you have confirmed email address, any money sent to your PayPal account will be available in your PayPal balance. If you only have email confirmation and no transaction history, please check that the payment was sent to the correct email address which is registered in your PayPal account. Updating the app's location doesn't effect the payments received to your account.
Unclaimed payments would be in pending status in the sender's account and you can ask your friend to cancel the pending payment and sent it again to your PayPal account. Since you don't see any activity in your account, you can also check whether the email notification you have received is a legit one. Here's the article with the information on how to spot a fake, fraudulent, or phishing PayPal email or website.
Best wishes,
Bindu
