Good morning. I don't want a company to charge a larger payment by mistake or on purpose. It's about automatic subscriptions.

Hello @krysek76,
Thanks for joining the PayPal Community!
I understand you'd like to set a payment limit for one of your automatic subscriptions. Regrettably, this isn't an available option, but it is a great idea, and I'll pass it along! If you need to make any changes to your subscriptions, please visit this Help Center article.
Have a beautiful day!

I'm a bit confused. I noticed that one automatic payment, that I set up in 2015 (possibly initiated from Korea), shows a billing limit of $500. So it looks like it's not completely accurate to imply that PayPal currently can't support limits on automatic payments. Rather, it seems to be a choice on PayPal's part, whether to support them or not. Maybe that choice is based on the legal implications in different jurisdictions. But it would be useful to have a more complete and accurate response on this.

I absolutely support this. I discovered recently that a number of merchants who I had bought single items from had, without my realising, created automatic payments when I thought they were just accessing a single payment. Guess what: they happen to be merchants that I don't trust much (which is why I used PayPal rather than a credit card to pay them in the first place). OK, I can live with this, but I do want to set a limit on how much they can access. Without this, I will not be using PayPal with these businesses (and therefore will not be buying from them at all).
