For goods and services" instead of "For friends and family

Hi!

 

I made the wrong payment. I would like to get refund so that I can pay them again as Frinds and family. Somewhere in the instructions, I read that I first confirm receipt of the goods and then request a refund. When I go to the transaction, I can not find anythinf anywhere. I do not have that as a choice. Only to report problem.

What to do?

Please help

You can only use the friends/family option for sending gifts of money to family and friends.

If you use it to buy goods/services then you would have 0 buyer protection and risk your account being limited as its against paypal rules to use that option for purchases.

 

If it was a family member or friend and made a mistake then the recipient would need to issue a refund HOWEVER they would not get back any fee they were charged when you paid as part of any refund that they make.

Has to be done from the recipients side. They would need to mark it as 'order processed' and then you may get an email to confirm receipt that will release the funds if they are on 'hold' in the recipients account.

 

Then he would have to click the refund option on the transaction details in his paypal account, HOWEVER he may need to 'add' funds to his paypal balance to cover the fee element to make a full refund.

 

Then once you have the refund which may go back to your bank or card (allow 7-30 days) you can send again with the friends/family option if you have that option available in your country?
