False transaction ID

Someone has provided me with a transaction ID I haven’t received a payment is there a way to check that this is a real transaction?

I understand your concern about not seeing the payment sent to your PayPal account. Any payments sent to your account will not appear in the account balance until you to complete the registration process by confirming your email address. If you have confirmed email address, you will always be notified the details of the payment via email when someone initiates a payment to your PayPal account, and the same will reflect in the activity page of your PayPal account. If you've not received any email notification, please check with the sender again for more details of the transaction.
