Error when paying through PayPal on Gumtree Australia

I’m am trying to pay a seller on Gumtree when I try through the app I keep getting the error “Something went wrong” but when I try through the website I get the error “Their might be an issue with your PayPal account” any help appreciated. After receiving that error message I have made purchases through other websites via PayPal and they have worked fine.

Sorry to hear that you're not complete the payment! To provide one of the safest online payment services our internal security system reviews every transaction before it's approved. In this situation, I recommend you to try again at a later date by clearing your cache and cookies from your internet browser or try to use a different internet browser or device. I am having the exact same issue and I have cleared my cache and cookies and that did not work (which should be obvious since issue is happening on mobile and on computer browser). I contacted PayPal Customer Service directly and they found no issue with my account or could see any payment attempts. So the "hold for review" answer is also bad.

 

I challenge PayPal to revise their answer policies to this question and find the actual solution as I am still having this issue and PayPal was of no assistance at all at resolving this issue.

Im currently having the exact same error, Paypal help team also haven't found anything wrong with my account. Would be nice of Paypal to look into this as a broader issue since its happening to a few people now.
