Duplicate payment to friend. She declined one payment. How do I get that money back?

I sent a payment to a friend on 8/25 but sent it twice by accident. She declined the second payment. I still have not gotten that money back in my account. Paypal says she needs to refund it to me but how can she if she declined it

I understand your concern about the duplicate payment. If the status of the payment is completed, it means money reached successfully in recipients account, recipients cant decline the payments, they can only refund it by using the refund option in their account. If you have received any notification about the payment, you will always receive an email. Please be advised that if you haven't received any email about payment decline or refund, please reach out to the recipient to get it confirmed again. If not reach out to our Customer Support Team through the available contact options on our website.
