I am trying to take donations from my Wordpress website using the 'Donations via PayPal' plug-in and an image linked to the plug-in on the donations webpage. Because I am in user interface testing mode I need to make test donations and then refund them.
When logged in to my Paypal account via my email address I can see the transaction and the 'refund' option beside it but when I select it no refund is processed. However, if I make a direct Paypal payment to the same email address, that transaction also appears with 'refund' beside it. When I click on that the refund is processed as I would expect.
My question is: Why does the earlier transaction not permit a refund to take place?
Any help would be appreciated.
