Cancelling client payment

I need to cancel a client payment (they have already done so from their end). The client is still being requested for payment every 5 days when the total transaction should have been cancelled. They have cancelled at their end and I need to do something at my end to complete the total transaction so the request does'nt continue. What do I need to do?
