Adding money- conversion issues

I hold a UK bank account and want to add money from it to my balance. 

When trying to do it on the app it changes the UK pounds to dollars....if i want to add £50 when i come to add the amount, it only allows me to enter it in US dollars. 

Can this be changed? surely in a UK account you can switch money directly in GBP?

Click on your paypal wallet and select GBP as your primary balance.

I have. My balance is showing in GBP but when I try to enter the amount I want to transfer it displays the destination currency as USD. Thanks for engaging with my question.
