How to Change method for verification

Can I change the verification method for when I make online purchases because I’m currently overseas and can’t verify using my normal phone number

Paypal advises you not to use your country specific paypal account internationally.

Why it may sometimes work you do risk the account being limited by their security if they can't verify its you using the account.
