Why can only American banks link to Paypal Egypt? Just pure racism?

I am British, thankfully not American, and working in Egypt.. but I am only allowed to link an American bank! What is this, Trumpist America-first colonialism? Racist elitism? Or is there some kind of reciprocal love-in? I've not actually met any seppos here, so they can't be the mass majority of foreigners, surely? I hold a GBP bank account here too!

Paypal is country specific so if you move countries you have to open another paypal account in the country you reside in and add an address / phone number / bank accounts / cards from within that country.
You can however add a U.S bank account (not card) to 'most' other countries paypal accounts. This is because paypal is a U.S company and so allows this.
Think the only person being racist on here is you.
