Error when trying to make payment

Hi all,

Whenever a customer tries to login to make a payment from my website, they are getting the following error:

This site can’t be reached

www.live11.paypal.com’s server DNS address could not be found.

DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN

Is there any current/known issues regarding this?

It is happening after people click "Subscribe" on this page (http://berugbymagazine.com/subscribe/) and then try to login to make payment.

Cheers

Chris

Not fixed.
I don't understand why do they not simply redirect the failing www.liveXX.paypal.com DNS addresses to www.paypal.com as this trick is working.

Adding a CNAME takes a minute, so what's the point? A bigger problem like DNS impossible to update?

I also don't get why paypal-status.com says everything is green while we are a lot facing the same problem.

If you take off the part livexx and press enter works. But most clients doesn't know about that trick. Hopefully paypal fix this huge problem!!

I made it work via the Windows hosts file, editing it with the liveXX hosts pointing to an ip from the www.paypal.com site. This is rather advanced, be warned, but it works if you look up how to edit the windows hosts file then do a DNS lookup for www.paypal.com and insert all the expected liveXX paypal hosts into it :D...

Howto for editing the Windows hosts file: https://support.rackspace.com/how-to/modify-your-hosts-file/

Edit File (use administrator permissions in notebad, save as 'hosts' not 'hosts.txt': \\Windows\system32\drivers\etc

# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.

# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host

# localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself.
# 127.0.0.1 localhost
# ::1 localhost

Just wanted to give an update on my end. As of this morning, the subscription button on my site appears to be redirecting correctly and I'm no longer experiencing the problem. Hopefully, it stays this way!
