True you can add a card, unless your cards hold different names. I was married at the time I got my Paypal, and I have tired several times to change my name in the paypal system so my cards match the system, but it won't change! Thus the cards won't process a transaction on them because the name is wrong.
I have to transfer directly each time, although this is the first time ever this has been this huge an issue for me!
When trying to change your name did you fax any documents into PayPal? If you have not fax any documents, to get your name changed in the PayPal system you would want to call PayPal directly and they will give you the proper documents you would need to fax in to get your name changed.
