money sent is not all received

My father in law is sending money when paying for items but its not all being received by the seller,

ie- he sent 3.99 but they got 2.67 and he also sent 250.00 but they got 240.00, so its happening for large or small amounts,

can anyone help

Thank you, the seller was getting upset as he thought we had conned him, will get him to check his receipt for fees

There is no receipt, the fee is deducted before the rest of the buyers payment is credited to his paypal account balance.

Seller has now realised that it was fees that reduced to final money that he received,  but is asking for more money to cover postage that WAS free, alll because of the fees the he did not know would be charged, what can we do.

Sorry but that is his tough luck.

 

Its not your fault he did not realise that he had to pay fees.

 

Personally i would tell him that you have paid for the item as advertised and if he does not send it you will file a dispute for non receipt of item on paypal.

 

But if you want to pay extra for postage that is entirely up to you, your call.

 

As for the fees he does not need a receipt as the fees are standard of 3.4% + 20p for every transaction.
