merchant payments pending?

paid toyrus via paypal. it says payment pending and then above it it says authorised with a minus fugure. both in payments pending section of paypal summary.  what i want to know is has this money been taken from my bank or is it just saying it has been requested but yet to be taken?

my statment wont update for 4 days as its bank holiday so im clueless! not sure how merchant paying system works

When you pay a company (rather than an ebay seller or individual), then it is always pending until that company processes your order and captures the pending payment.

If they don't process that order and capture the pending payment then the pending status times out at 30 days post-payment.

 does this mean the payment has left my bank already and is being held by paypal ?
