Son wants to send me money to visit him

Hi my son lives in OZ and wants to pay for my flight out there, rather than being charged silly money through the bank can he use Paypal using a debit card to send me the flight money ?

If so what will he / me be charged for, I realise the exchange rate will be dictated by the bank but will he or I have a final charge ?

Hi TinaS1 and welcome to our community

Your son can send you the money as a personal payment. If he uses his PayPal balance or bank account to do the transfer there are no fees other than the currency conversion. If he uses his debit card there may be a fee applied. The fees will be shown before the transaction is complete and you son will have the option of paying the fees or them being deducted from the money you receive.

Alternatively your son can purchase the flight directly from the airline and email you the check in details ?
