Sent Wrong Currency of Payment

My client has sent me money last month. And I asked her to send in Philippine Peso (PHP) but unfortunately, since she's new to PayPal, she sent me the money in USD. It's kind of a big amount. I want to give it back because it's not mine. BUT the problem is, an error message keeps on saying "We're sorry, but we can't send your payment right now."

Is there anyone here from PayPal who can answer me?

What should I do so I could send the money without the error message?

A customer support representative answered to my mail that my account is good and set and the error has nothing to do with my account. Please someone help me, the money is not mine. My client needs it badly.

Many thanks,

Ariane

Hi ariane0815,

Welcome to the community forum and thanks for posting.

If you want to return a payment to someone it is better to issue a refund then to send it back as a new payment. This is how to do that:

  1. Go to www.paypal.com and log in to your account.
  2. Click Activity near the top of the page.
  3. Click Details next to the payment you want to refund.
  4. Click Issue a refund.
  5. For ‘Refund amount,’ enter the amount you want to refund, then click Continue.
  6. Review the information and click Issue Refund.

This will return the money to the person who has paid you and will refund any fees that you have paid to receive the money.
