Payment sent/pending on cancelled order?

Hello

I made a purchase to Dell computers a few days ago with Paypal for £229.

I had £128 in my PP account and the remaining £100 was to be debited from my bank account. So the payment was pending.

A few days later I added the remaining funds in myself but for other reasons had to cancel my Dell order.

Dell have confirmed that no money has been takem from my account, but the PP payment is still pending and the £128 as not returned to my account.

Do I just need to be patient or do I need to do anything/contact anyone?

Thank you.

When you pay a company (rather than an ebay seller or individual), then it is always pending until that company processes your order and captures the pending payment.

If they don't process that order and capture the pending payment then the pending status times out at 30 days post-payment.

If you contact your funding source they should release the funds back to your account if they are pending in that account.

The money from your balance will probably be released on the 30 day mark.

Thanks, so I should expect the £128 back in my PP account at around 30 days?

Is there a way I can check about this to make sure? Is it worth contacting PP to make certain?

Yes of course you can contact paypal customer services, this is just a user to user forum for advice which you can take or leave >>>

Click on the words "Contact" at the bottom of your paypal account summary page and use the phone option (if there is one in the country you are in) > click on the "call us" option on the left (fees "may" apply so check the cost with your phone tariff first, as you sometimes have to wait a while to connect).

When you get through don't select any options just hang on till you get transfered to an agent or say the word "agent".

OR have you considered contacting Customer Service via Facebook or Twitter?

You can send them a personal message from their facebook or twitter pages.

It's: https://www.facebook.com/PayPalUK and @AskPayPal for Twitter.
