Paypal Seller Protection

Hi everyone,

I'm about to make a private sale transaction with a buyer who wishes to use paypal.

The item is a physical item - computer video card. But it's being sold at almost 800 quid.

I've read the criteria for seller protection. However, I've read horror stories of sellers being subject to non-receipt claims and chargebacks, and losing the claim even though they have provided the tracking evidence.

Why is this the case? And how can I make sure I protect myself as a seller?

Hi PCRevolution,

Welcome to the PayPal Community.

I see you have not had a response to date from our members. Maybe I can help.

When you receive a payment you should see in the transaction details if the transaction is covered under Seller Protection. If so you would then need to send the item to the shipping address which we provided and sent it recorded delivery. You can find more information on Seller protection here: https://www.paypal.com/uk/webapps/mpp/paypal-safety-and-security
