I recently sold an item on ebay and buyer paid for it and paypal account said completed so I packed it ready to send. Then a day later I received an email from paypal saying that the buyer may not have authorised the payment and not to send the item until their investigation was complete and asked me for some information to help them complete the investigation which I did. I then emailed my buyer and told her why I wasn't posting the item cos I thought it would be a good idea to keep her informed. She messaged me back 2 days later telling me that she had paid using a new phone and had forgotten to tell ebay and paypal but that it was all sorted and could I send her the item. I relplied that the payment status was still showing as held so I would wait until her payment had cleared and once this had happened I would send it out 1st class with my compliments. I did sympathise with her and said that this was very frustrating for her. So far I haven't heard back from her. Just wanted to check am in the right aren't I?

Hi stuffystuff,
Yes quite agree with you. Paypal should sort this out quickly and release the funds once the buyer has confirmed authorisation of the payment.
But like you i would not send until they had.
Hopefully it will all work out ok, good luck.
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.

Thanks Kernowlass I thought I was right but needed to double check! I have kept my buyer fully informed of the situation so hopefully she will be understanding of the situation.
