I have just received a fraudulent email (dated 14/2/14) that looks exactly like a paypal email telling me that I have paid Skype £42.98. The email suggests that I click on a link (thankfully blocked by my anti virus) if i didnt authorize this payment. Have advised paypal.

Also NEVER click on links in emails in case they are spoof.
You will know an email is not from PayPal when:
•The email uses a generic greeting like 'Dear user' or 'Hello, PayPal member’.
•The email requests financial and other personal information.
•The email includes an attachment, a software update to install on your computer.
Hope you reported it to spoof@paypal.com as that helps to keep us all safer.
