I've been asked to send something I've sold to a different address than on paypal and their account. Is this a good idea? It is for quite an expensive watch? Thanks

NO, especially if its somewhere in Africa etc.
You have NO paypal seller protection unless you send to the paypal account holders registered address.
Sounds a bit like a scam can you give a few details?

Thanks, they've paid and are registered at an address in London, but asked if I could send to a hotel in Edinburgh as they're away.

If they had added a gift address BEFORE they paid then you would have been covered.
