Payment discrepancy

Buy a lot, sell a little.  Recently sold six items - after fees removed total of sales approx $2000.

 After 7 days Payment pending  figure is approx  $1400  - I understand the wait, not the $ 600 difference 

Emails to Paypal  re discrepancy generate auto FAQ response, is there a simple thing I can't find?

Have you bought anything and used paypal to pay for it, because if you have cleared funds in your paypal balance then paypal will use those instead of your normal funding source?
