Buyer failed to accept or collect item

Here is the situation:  I'm the seller. I sent the item to the buyer 2nd class signed for Royal Mail.  Buyer contacted me about a week after dispatch saying she had not recieved the item.  I checked the tracking number.  Delivery had been attempted, a "something for you card left".  Buyer failed to collect the item from the post office depot.  It has now been returned to me.  What am i obligated to refund?  The price paid for the item and the postage? Or just the item?  Thanks for any help.

You can see if the buyer will accept a part refund of item cost only but if they do not want to and open a dispute for non receipt of item then you would have to give them a full refund.
