I ordered a laptop on Kleinanzeigen and the seller requested payment through PayPal's goods and services. Trusting PayPal, I paid on June 30th and the seller shipped it on July 1st. On July 2nd, DHL updated the status to show the parcel was picked up from the seller's packstation. Later, Kleinanzeigen warned me that the account from which I purchased the product was hacked. I tried contacting the seller through Kleinanzeigen messages, but received no reply. Then, I reached out via PayPal messages where he assured me everything was fine, but he stopped responding the next day. Consequently, I digitally refused the DHL parcel and opened a dispute on PayPal on July 8th. PayPal asked me to wait until July 18th for the seller to respond, which he didn't. On the 18th, PayPal stated the case was under review and they needed more time to track the DHL parcel to see if it would be returned. However, the DHL parcel's status hasn't changed since July 8th. I suspect the seller did something during shipping, but I'm not certain. As an international student, having €1054 tied up is serious; I've been borrowing money for food for the past three days. I'm unsure if I will get my money back if DHL doesn't update the status by August 2nd.
