I bid on a car on ebay. Seller listed as 1 owner and clean title. Sent $295 deposit thru PayPal. When I asked to see title it was in somebody else's name. He also attached (4) records of ownership transfers to different car dealers using same title. The sellers name did not even appear on these. The last listed owner was a used car dealer that is currently out of business. I live in New York, and I am 100% sure that DMV here would not accept this as legal. Title flipping is illegal in all 50 states by the way. Ebay denied my dispute stating that seller specified that deposit is non-refundable. I would have thought that the facts clearly stated about seller not actually owning the car would be justification for refund. I have asked PayPal to resolve now but can anyone tell me if they have a similar issue and how it was resolved?
