is there a way to verify the account that sent you money?

Hi, today a person bought an item from me from gumtree and paid using an online retailers PayPal account <Removed> (onlinestore for anonymity) and want me to post it to an address with the name of another company that i cant find anywhere online but does have an ABN, am unsure if this is a scam or someone has hacked into this online store's PayPal account and paid for this item using someone else's money, sadly cant contact PayPal cause its out of their business hours

You would only have paypal seller protection if you paid to the buyers paypal registered address at the time that they paid, personally I wouldn't go ahead with this transaction but your call.
