Just a message to warn people who have a PayPal account that they are not as secure as you might think Someone hacked my account and spent £479.99 on an item to which I can’t find out what it was Paying said my dispute I opened up with them does not hold up as they say no unauthorised access has happened on my account but obviously it has as I did not buy the item Even after the dispute has been looked into they still can’t tell me what the item was that was purchased or where it was purchased or where it was sent or collected from so they obviously did not look at muck as after filing it they refused it quite quickly So people please be aware that PayPal is not as secure as it’s made out to be as someone managed to get into my account and nobody knows my password And you are not covered even after reporting it that it was a fraudulent transaction it does make you want to close my PayPal account as it will probably happen again surly they can see what device was used and where the purchase went but the could not be bothered to look into it just a reply to say they can’t see any unauthorised activity so please be aware you are not always covered for fraud on paypal

similar happened to me . It was a computer scam where the scammer took control of my computer and set up various installment payments on my account . I reported it straightaway to paypal but they say there was no 'unauthorised use' ! unfortunately the payments set up seem to be circumventing my bank so I cannot get refunded . I dont understand how paypals mechanisms work in these type of paymants. Paypal seem to have no honourable self-regulation in dealing with alleged fraud and are providing no information so that I can pursue it further. I would advise anyone to avoid Paypal . I would close my account right away but still arguing about the outstanding payments . ..
