Unable to close my PayPal account

Hello, I’ve been trying to close my account but a message pops up ‘We were unable to close your account’. I checked the reasons as to why there’s a chance that it cannot be closed but there’s nothing. I should probably add that my account has been limited. The reason why is that I did something dumb. I made the account for mother a couple years ago (when I was still a minor) and used it to order things for us (since she’s much older and technology is hard for her). A became an adult a few years ago and today I got the idea to change the account to my information (name, phone number, etc) instead of creating a new one (it’s stupid I know), since my mother doesn’t know how to use it. I think maybe that’s the reason I can’t close the account, but I don’t know what to do. I only have and use the email on that account (because I changed that before I changed the name and got the account limited) and cannot delete it so I can create a new account. How can I solve this problem? How can I close the account?

Paypal does not allow account holders under the age of 18.

PayPal asks for a birth date when you register so whilst you can make a PayPal account with false information the account will need to be verified to accept funds into your balance or lift any limits.
As you would be unable to verify your account it would be permanently locked for further use.

You would never be able to use that illegally opened underage account again OR remove anything from it OR close it but once 18 Paypal may allow you to open a new account. Opening a new account is not guaranteed as you have already broken their rules once so check with customer services first.
