Is it normal that Paypal will lock a senders account and hold back the funds for 180 days pending investigation.

You mean you have been permanently banned from using Paypal or a Paypal account now and in the future?

Because the 180 days only means you may be able to withdraw any funds in that account after that time frame, it does not mean you can start using paypal again after 180 days.

If no disputes are opened in 180 days then normally you are allowed to withdraw the funds. That is as long as you are over 18, account is in your legal name and the account is registered in the country where you reside.

Sometimes they confiscate funds under this policy.

Paypal also may request further documentation from you before you can withdraw those funds.

@kernowlass No my account is not locked. I just got a message from my employer that they can’t complete the transaction for my salary/commision, because PayPal has locked their account and holding the funds for 180 days pending investigation during their suspect of black money.
